Support the canoe paddling culture on Kauai with two great events during Koloa Plantation Days. Kukui’ula Outrigger Canoe Club is hosting both the Family Fun Run Sunday July 24 and Paddle Fest at Poipu Beach Park Sunday July 31.
These two events are part of a week long of annual festivities in Koloa and Poipu.
Sponsors: Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation Cottages; Makai Properties; Living Foods; Dolphin Massage
Family Fun Run is co-hosted with Pu’uwai Canoe Club
Both the Kukui’ula Outrigger Canoe Club and the Pu’uwai Canoe Club support not just the Hawaiian culture of outrigger canoe paddling, they train keiki (children) on Kauai to paddle with youth paddling programs. This activity builds strong bodies, character and a solid understanding of teamwork for these children. These events are fundraisers for the clubs’ keiki programs. The proceeds go towards buying paddles for the kids, safety vests/rescue buoys for the canoes and race registration fees for them. In addition, 10% of the proceeds from the Family Fun Run will be donated to The Mayor’s Office Youth Health Initiatives. Mayor Carvalho himself will officiate over the 1 Mile Keiki Fun Run!!
