Social media is good for Kauai. It allows us to extend our aloha spirit across the oceans.
Kauai TweetUps are intended to foster increased activity on Twitter, Facebook Pages, websites, YouTube and other social media in a way that benefits local businesses and the general economy in Kauai.
Our next gathering for people who tweet on Kauai is Saturday, March 5th at noon. Based on RSVP’s already in, it is going to be a great group.
We are meeting at 22° North Restaurant located in the Gaylord Wilcox Mansion at Kilohana Plantation in Lihue. Here is the 22° North farm to table on a farm lunch menu. So that everyone can comfortably manage their budget, we have arranged for separate checks.
Who Should Come:
You are responsible for or represented by a twitter account. It is your own or your company’s.
You are about to get on Twitter and would love some friendly faces when you get there.
You are friendly and nice – you don’t throw food.
What To Expect:
A tweetup is an opportunity for people who tweet and may know each from Twitter to meet each other face-to-face.
We will be eating lunch together (separate checks). There will be ample opportunity to get to know each other and exchange information about social media, twitter and marketing our Kauai businesses. Bring business cards.
The venue is kindly welcoming us each with a @22NorthKauai #KauaiTweetup Farm to Bar Signature Cocktail.
How to RSVP:
Ideally, please leave me a comment on this page. If you are not accustomed to commenting, Here’s how to comment on a website.
Tweet that you are coming. If your Twitter bio doesn’t include your name (tsk tsk) please let us know who you are.
You should notice new followers during the week running up to the #KauaiTweetUp and following it. Be nice and follow back – unless you don’t want to – but at least consider it. I’ve noticed a lot of Twitter accounts on Kauai where the owner follows only a few people. Are you being selective or just not looking? Following back prospective or current clients just makes sense.
Tweet About the TweetUp:
Let’s create a little noise. Please use:

Tweets are ideally 120 characters or less to allow room for retweeting. Here is an example:
Heading to @22NorthKauai Sat Mar 5 for #KauaiTweetUp lunch at noon. Looking forward to meet @name http://bit.ly/KauaiTU35
If you look at my @KauaiTalk tweets, you’ll get the idea. I’ll also be tweeting from @LindaSherman
If you don’t have a Twitter app on your smart phone yet – it’s time to add one.

Time: Noon to 2:30
UPDATE: Farm Tour at 2:30 pm
At 2:30 if you would like to join us, there will be a tour of the Kilohana Farm. I went on one of these February 19 before a Green Drinks event at this venue but I would enjoy going again and if you haven’t been, I think you’ll like it too. Bring comfortable walking shoes, there is a forecast for rain Friday so there may be some mud. You do NOT need hiking boots. Here are some photos from the February 19 Farm Tour.
