Each year the Navy throws a party shortly before July 4th with music and fireworks at the Pacific Missile Range Facility. Approximately 9,000 guests attended the July 3rd 2012 event. There were also many cars parked along the beaches leading to the base. We brought beach chairs and enjoyed the fireworks on the beach.
There was music before and after the fireworks show. The Quake immediately followed the fireworks show which went off at 9PM. I included the full moon in my Quake video. Many of the guests had been there since 5PM so they left right after the fireworks. A smaller crowd enjoyed the music and dancing. Few of us ever venture that far to the west of Kauai, past Hanapepe, past Waimea, past Kekaka and near Barking Sands Beach.
I attended the event with my husband Ray and Jai Roberts of Honua Lani. So you might hear them commenting on the fireworks during that video. We saw many friends at the PMRF event. It’s very popular!
If you are looking for a fireworks event for tonight, don’t miss Concert in the Sky.
Happy July 4th to you and your family!
